The woodland is basically coppice woodland, which has had little work done in it over the last 30 years.
It has a wide range of trees including some magnificent oaks, some ash, aspen and of course chestnut and hornbeam.

We have just completed the final stage of the biodiversity work of the woodland thanks to a grant from Sussex Lund.
Already the woods are brighter and there are far more birds taking immediate advantage of the new light provided throughout the woodland.
It was hard work but very satisfying and rewarding to see the changes and the management of the woodland. We learnt a lot and now need to keep working in the woodland to maintain the changes made
